The “Guardians of Time” set out to do great things ten years ago. Today we know that they have achieved this goal and that a global community is following them. Whether as a life-size cloth object hardened with polyester resin, as a silver miniature or as a handy plastic, the “Guardians of Time” know how to convince. This success can also be measured by their immense popularity in the social networks like Facebook.
Kielnhofer, who is ennobled in the art world as a genius of photography and sculpturing, has created his personal synthesis of the arts with the”Guardians of Time”. The “Guardians of Time” were also presented at major events such as the Festival of Lights in Berlin or in current exhibitions such as the Vienna Art & Antique Fairs at the “Künstlerhaus” and the Hofburg, as well as at the Art & Antique at the Residenz Salzburg. Kielnhofer focuses his attention on the technical perfection of the individual sculptures.
Kielnhofer is not only a master sculptor, he is also skillfully uses the guerrilla tactic. He participated with his life-size guardians already at the Venice Biennale, the Art Basel and most recently at the documenta in Kassel – usually without an invitation. At these exhibitions, his “Guardians of Time” are receiving a huge amount of attention and are continuing to build their hegemony in the world of “Watchers.”
